This engages all your senses and brings immediate awareness to your surroundings. Look around and focus on noticing:
5 things you can see
4 things you can touch
3 things you can hear
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste.
Example: "I see a blue pen, my coffee mug, the window blinds, a green plant, and my keyboard. I can touch my soft sweater, the smooth desk surface, my phone case, and the cool metal of my chair. I hear the air conditioner humming, cars passing outside, and my neighbor's dog barking. I smell coffee and a faint scent of vanilla from my candle. I taste the lingering mint from my gum."
